This is a wonderful photograph of the butcher on the corner of Eva St and Musgrave road.

Below is a little bit more information about Mr Woodcock.

This from The Telegraph Newspaper in 1939:

Death of Mr. W. Woodcock, Old Red Hill Resident.

One of the oldest residents of the district, Mr. Walter Woodcock, of Glenrosa Road, Red Hill, died yesterday morning at the age of 81. His death followed an operation in a private hospital.

Mr. Woodcock was a native of Tamworth, England, and came to Brisbane when he was a youth. He found employment in the butchering trade and established his own business at the comer of

Waterworks and Musgrave Roads, Red Hill, in 1880. In 1922 he retired and went on a trip to his birthplace. On his return he resided at Redcliffe for nine years, where he interested himself in sporting and municipal activities. He was a member of the town council and a foundation member of the bowling club. He later returned to Red Hill, where he was also a foundation member of the Ithaca Bowling Club in 1930. A keen racing man, he was a member of the Queensland Turf Club. He is survived by his widow.

The funeral left Glenrosa Road, Red Hill. for the Crematorium, Mount Thompson, at 11.20 a.m.
